The Centre For U
TRAINING, UPSKILLING & HEALTH SERVICES
The ETU commenced this new initiative predominately to support its 18,000 members in times of need. It is a philanthropic venture, providing high value in the form of training, health and well-being services, and workplace and personal support. The Centre for U provides training and support services for ETU members, their families, the broader union movement with the CFU doors always open to the community and wider electrical industry.
Energy Safe Victoria (ESV) has introduced Continuing Professional Development (CPD) for the electrical trade. You must complete the CPD course within the 2 years before renewing your licence. But you don’t have to sweat it, as you can do your CPD course for free at the new state-of-the-art Centre for U training facility, with the CPD Skills Maintenance course taking just 8 hours.
The ETU understands how hard it is when you are out of a job or seeking to upskill to improve your career prospects and secure your family’s future. The Centre for U delivers courses and has also partnered with other RTO’s to ensure you can access high quality industry skills training. The training is free for unemployed members and either discounted or free to employed members.
This means that you can get trained and back to work or advance your career without having to dip into your safety net. So, if you are looking to learn something new, change your career direction or work in a new industry, we have you covered.
The ETU is committed to looking after the wellbeing of all our members, both on and off the job. We offer a range of Health Services free for you and your family, to ensure you are all in good health all year round.
With our General Health and Skin Checks you can catch any concerns early and follow up with your GP who can provide treatment or further referrals. Our other services are also there if you require extra support developing a healthy lifestyle.
Contact us to discuss access to Health Services at our regional offices.
